Perfect for a beginner but constructed well enough to allow advancement in skills. My daughter is a young intermediate skater and she loves these boots. She can put them on herself (no laces to frustrate her and accidentally get caught up in the wheels) and they can grow with her foot. She also loves the tri-skate look as it looks like the Rollerblade Twister edge 110 3wd that her mom is sporting lol.Pretty soon I will change out the bearings for her and get her something faster to roll on because the sg3’s are pretty slow, smooth yes, but slow.Also love the fact that she can add a light up wheel, as well, and the extra pins were included if we want to change to a 4wd set up. Max wheel size for the frame is 80mm. The skates come with 76mm.And for those who wonder, a tri- skate with a smaller wheel size such as these are, in my opinion, easier to roll on and turn as there is a center pivot point. Once you move up on larger wheel sizes then there are other factors that don’t necessarily make that true. I think the ABEC3 rating provides the right amount of speed for beginners and the adjustable boot feature will allow them to grow in the future. The laceless system allows the kids to put them on and take them off by themselves. The only challenge was switching the brake pad from the right to left foot. The small metal pin holding the brake in place was very difficult to remove to allow for the switch. After the initial adjustments, these have provided hours of entertainment everyday this summer!As soon as these skates arrived I replaced the bearings with faster twincam ILQ-9 bearings. My daughter loved them.Bought these for my granddaughter. She loved them. Skated on them right away. Didn't have any problem with fit.I bought these for my daughter after she outgrew a pair we bought second hand that had 4 wheels. She said the ones with 4 wheels give a lot smoother ride. She likes these a lot and says they are comfortable too.I bought this for my 10 year old granddaughter. She picket it out and she loves itThese roller blades are an upgrade from a pair my daughter grew out of. Best part is the size is adjustable so it will last her a while. The overall quality is top notch coming from this brand name.
